"Hangzhou Hangtianxin Public Interest Legal Service Center" (hereinafter referred to as the Public Interest Center) was established on April 7, 2016. It is a non-profit non-enterprise unit specializing in legal aid services, approved by the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Justice and registered by the Hangzhou Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, and run by Zhejiang Hangtianxin Law Firm. The Public Interest Center, recommended by the All-China Lawyers Association, has become the implementation unit in Hangzhou of the "Central Special Lottery Public Welfare Fund Legal Aid Project" approved by the China Legal Aid Foundation. This project provides free legal aid throughout the process for farmers, disabled people, the elderly, women, and minors with economic difficulties, benefiting millions of people by expanding the scope of cases and lowering the threshold for assistance, truly reflecting the purpose and goal of protecting people's livelihood, enjoying fairness, and promoting harmony.

In 2016, the Public Interest Center handled more than 100 legal aid cases for 544 beneficiaries who met the conditions for assistance. Among the beneficiaries, there were 2 women, 1 elderly person, 1 disabled person, 1 minor, and 539 farmers. In 2016, the Public Interest Center recovered more than 10 million yuan in economic losses for nearly 500 beneficiaries, achieving good social results. On March 5, 2017, at the grand "2017 China Legal Profession Public Welfare Forum and the First Legal Profession Public Welfare List" award ceremony held at the Keyuan Law School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Public Interest Center won the "Best Public Welfare Innovation Award" for its outstanding achievements in public welfare in 2016.
