Hangtianxin held a special study session on the special governance of prominent issues in the legal profession.

The legal profession is a vital force in the rule of law, and its healthy and orderly development is crucial to building a China and Zhejiang Province governed by law. In accordance with the spirit of relevant documents from superior authorities concerning the special rectification of the lawyer corps, on the afternoon of April 28, 2021, Hangzhou Tianxin Law Firm held a special study session on the special governance of prominent issues in the legal profession in its newly opened 100-person conference hall on the 18th floor. Jiang Jiansen, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Justice, and Xiang Jianmin, Director of the Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Lawyers Association, gave special lectures to all Hangzhou Tianxin lawyers respectively.

  Deputy Director Jiang Jiansen summarized the progress of Hangzhou Tianxin Law Firm's special governance of prominent issues in the legal profession, introduced the existing problems in the current special governance work, and elaborated on its importance and necessity. He also put forward requirements for the firm's future special governance work: firstly, to correctly understand and effectively enhance political standing; secondly, to actively participate in special governance education and learning; thirdly, to fully understand the spirit and ensure its implementation; and fourthly, to cautiously handle some unhealthy practices. Finally, he also put forward expectations of "two differences": firstly, the difference between self-examination and learning education; and secondly, the difference between before and after the special governance.

Subsequently, Director Xiang Jianmin gave a special lecture on "Lawyer Professional Ethics and Disciplines" to all Hangzhou Tianxin lawyers. In his lecture, Director Xiang Jianmin introduced prominent issues such as conflicts of interest, dereliction of duty, disclosure of client secrets, contingency fees, and false litigation, requiring all lawyers to keep in mind professional ethics and practice disciplines to ensure that no illegal, irregular, or disciplinary events occur, and requiring the law firm to regulate lawyers' professional conduct and strengthen education and management of the lawyer corps.

At the end of the meeting, Director Yu Yuehai reiterated the significance of carrying out education and rectification of the lawyer corps, requiring all lawyers to strengthen their work style, discipline, and ideological and political construction, attach great importance to professional risks, and strictly adhere to professional disciplines. Hangzhou Tianxin Law Firm will also grasp the correct direction of the development of the legal profession, strengthen supervision of lawyers' practice, and strictly regulate internal management.

Through this meeting, all Hangzhou Tianxin lawyers made a preliminary summary of the current special governance of prominent issues in the legal profession, fully understood the importance of this work, and learned about the arrangements for the next step. They also systematically studied lawyer professional ethics, practice disciplines, and risk prevention.
