On the afternoon of July 7th, the training camp officially opened with an opening address by Yu Yuehai, the managing partner of the firm. Subsequently, Wu Qiaolong, committee member and director of the corporate business department, and Ye Qing, vice director of the management committee, provided special training for trainee lawyers. Wu shared his ten years of practical experience, including techniques for expanding client base and communicating with clients. Ye Qing's lecture, "A Casual Talk on the Beginning of a Young Lawyer's Career," advised young lawyers to build a solid foundation, apply what they learn, and win clients' trust. Huang Xiaohua and Mao Yumin (committee member and director of the Youth Work Committee) gave lectures on "Fictitious Debts—Agency Case Studies" and "Legal Counsel Business Expansion and Negotiation Skills," respectively, sharing practical knowledge and skills from real-life cases in civil lending and legal counsel.

On the evening of July 8th, all trainees analyzed a classic case. The case was presented orally by Ye Qing, with the trainees taking notes and then discussing in groups of four. After an hour of discussion, each group presented its proposed solutions. Ye Qing commented on each group's proposal and pointed out potential legal risks.

The training camp concluded successfully, with enthusiastic feedback from the participants. They expressed that the camp demonstrated the firm's concern for young lawyers, addressed their initial concerns, and fulfilled their needs for professional knowledge and practical experience.

Hangzhou Tianxin Law Firm will continue to provide support for the development of young lawyers, creating better platforms to help them become core members of the firm more quickly and efficiently.

Lawyer's Insights

We should analyze the professional experience of others, especially that of previous generations of lawyers, in the context of their time. When deciding when to specialize, young lawyers should consider their personal circumstances, the current state of the profession and their own experience. While the future of the profession might be difficult to predict, our current position is something we can understand. To better understand which area of specialization suits us, we must consider our interests and hobbies. As Lou Yuguang said, every job has its difficulties; without the support of interest and hobby, it's hard to persevere. Therefore, we should not specialize for the sake of specialization.

——Yi Xiongying, Lawyer

The training camp coincided with my third month at Hangzhou Tianxin. In these three months, I've felt the firm's care and support for young lawyers. As a newly licensed trainee lawyer, I wasn't clear about my future career path, but the training camp provided direction and support.

——Wei Zhonghui, Trainee Lawyer

I was honored to participate in this training. Over these two days, I met many colleagues who have recently entered the legal profession and gained a deeper understanding of the career. To succeed in this field, lifelong learning, staying updated with industry changes, and proactive business development are crucial. Ye Qing's lecture on注意事项 for trainee lawyers and case analysis was very insightful, particularly the case analysis which provided solutions tailored to client needs, incorporating practical and theoretical knowledge. Practical experience is a major weakness for new lawyers. Understanding how legal provisions operate in society is more important than understanding their literal meaning.

——Zhu Ze Wang, Trainee Lawyer

Last June, I was deciding between postgraduate study and the bar exam, ultimately choosing the latter and becoming a lawyer. I joined Hangzhou Tianxin during the winter break, starting my career after graduating and returning to Hangzhou from Xi'an. I read some books about starting a legal career and online posts about career paths. We all know about the Pareto Principle and survivor bias. Starting a career is daunting, but hearing our partners share their experiences and advice gave me confidence and reduced my anxieties. I believe with hard work, the future will be bright and we can all become excellent lawyers.
