The hearing review of Sun Yang's case and the symposium on the Supreme People's Court's judicial interpretation of doping were successfully held.

On the afternoon of December 14th, the "Sun Yang Hearing Review and Supreme Court Doping Judicial Interpretation Seminar" was successfully held in Hangzhou's Canal Wealth Town, hosted by the Hangzhou Lawyers Association's Culture and Sports Industry Service Professional Committee, co-hosted by the Hangzhou Lawyers Association's Criminal Litigation Law Professional Committee, and undertaken by Zhejiang Hangtianxin Law Firm. This seminar mainly focused on the review and discussion of the witness cross-examination section in Sun Yang's hearing, attracting numerous lawyers interested in sports law. The live text and image broadcast of the meeting also received over 6000 views.

The seminar began with a welcome address by Ms. Xu Xiaogang, director of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association's Culture and Sports Committee. Ms. Xu expressed her welcome to Ms. Lin Muqing for sharing her insights and to all the lawyers interested in sports law. She hoped that the seminar would be beneficial to all attendees. Other guests included Mr. Li Daoyan, Standing Director of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association, Vice President of the Xihu Branch of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association, Director of the Criminal Litigation Committee, Senior Partner and Managing Partner of Jingheng Law Firm, Deputy Director of the Criminal Department; Ms. Zou Yinuan, head of the Business Department of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association; Ms. Ye Qing, Deputy Director and Party Secretary of Zhejiang Hangtianxin Law Firm; Ms. Chen Xiaolu and Ms. Yu Shengjie, Deputy Directors of the Hangzhou Culture and Sports Committee.

The seminar was divided into two and a half sessions. The first session was chaired by Mr. Lou Yuguang, Deputy Director of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association's Criminal Litigation Committee, Secretary-General of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association's Culture and Sports Committee, and Senior Partner of Zhejiang Hangtianxin Law Firm. Ms. Lin Muqing and Ms. Yu Shengjie reviewed the cross-examination of Sun Yang's witnesses from a lawyer's perspective. Ms. Lin began by analyzing the composition of the arbitrators, clarifying the characteristics of each arbitrator. Then, Ms. Yu and Ms. Lin reviewed the entire hearing process using video playback and commentary, recreating key moments, including the tribunal's questioning of Sun Yang, the hearing of WADA's three witnesses, the hearing of Sun Yang's five witnesses, the closing arguments, and Sun Yang's final statement. Their review provided a clearer understanding of the hearing details and facilitated legal analysis and discussion of the impact and possible outcomes, proving very insightful.

After a short break, the second session began, chaired by Ms. Zhang Xiaojing, Deputy Secretary-General of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association's Criminal Litigation Committee and Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Zhejiang Hangtianxin Law Firm. Ms. Lin Muqing and Ms. Yu Shengjie continued their review and commentary on the witness hearing. Following the review, Mr. Lou Yuguang interpreted the Supreme People's Court's "Interpretation on Several Issues Concerning the Application of Law in the Trial of Criminal Cases Involving Smuggling, Illegal Business Operations, and Illegal Use of Stimulants." He analyzed and explained the interpretation from four aspects: the concept and types of stimulants, anti-doping measures, the reasons for the distrust of Chinese swimming, and the interpretation of the doping judicial interpretation, combining it with the review of Sun Yang's hearing.

Following the presentations, lawyers actively asked questions, discussing issues from the hearing and sharing their opinions on the Supreme Court's doping judicial interpretation. The discussion was lively. Finally, Mr. Li Daoyan, Standing Director of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association, Vice President of the Xihu Branch of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association, Director of the Criminal Litigation Committee, Senior Partner and Managing Partner of Jingheng Law Firm, and Deputy Director of the Criminal Department, delivered the concluding remarks.

This seminar focused on the review of Sun Yang's hearing. Witness cross-examination is a crucial aspect of the hearing.
