On July 12, the first plenary meeting of the newly elected Zhejiang Provincial Lawyers Association Ethics and Discipline Committee was held. Director Xiang Jianmin presided over the meeting, and Zheng Jindu, President of the Provincial Lawyers Association, Vice President Chen Sanlian, and Cao Yue, Vice Secretary-General of the Provincial Lawyers Association, attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed and decided on the establishment of the Disciplinary Committee, Review Committee, and Professional Ethics Supervision Committee under the Zhejiang Provincial Lawyers Association Ethics and Discipline Committee, as well as the list of members of each committee. Yu Yuehai, director of our firm, will serve as the director of the newly established "Professional Ethics Supervision Committee." The Disciplinary Committee is mainly responsible for investigating and disciplining serious violations of regulations and disciplines by law firms and lawyers across the province, as well as for providing education and training on legal professional ethics and discipline; the Review Committee is mainly responsible for reviewing cases where lawyers disagree with the decisions made by city-level lawyer associations and for drafting normative documents related to legal professional ethics and practice discipline; the Professional Ethics Supervision Committee is mainly responsible for overseeing professional ethics across the province's legal profession, inspecting and supervising the implementation of standards for legal professional ethics and practice discipline, guiding and supervising city-level lawyer associations in their work on legal professional ethics and practice discipline.
