Hangtianxin participated in the fifth comprehensive law firm criminal development forum and the second Yuhang District Young Lawyers Forum

On the afternoon of March 23, 2019, the fifth Comprehensive Law Firm Criminal Development Forum and the second YuHang District Young Lawyers Forum were held at the Zhejiang Merchant Kaiyuan Mingdu Hotel. The theme of this forum was "Discussion on the Construction of Criminal Legal Business Teams in Law Firms". Criminal teams from many comprehensive law firms across the city, including Hangtianxin Law Firm, Jinda Law Firm, and Jingheng Law Firm, participated in the forum, sharing their experiences in criminal team building.

Chen Guoliang, Deputy Director of the YuHang District Justice Bureau, delivered a speech at the meeting. Director Chen quoted the "Lan Ting Ji Xu" (Preface to the Poems Composed at the Orchid Pavilion), "All the virtuous gather here, young and old alike," to describe today's forum. He believes that it is urgent for criminal defense lawyers to improve their criminal defense capabilities, and the development of young lawyers is related to the development of the legal profession and the progress of national rule of law. He hopes that lawyers can communicate and exchange more, and wishes the forum a success.

The forum was divided into three sessions. The first session was a demonstration of case handling skills by criminal legal business teams, focusing on introducing the skills and experience of various teams in handling criminal cases. Lawyer Li Daoyan from Jingheng Law Firm shared the production of visual materials for criminal defense, sharing skills and techniques on how to make good visual materials in case handling. Lawyer Yuan Xinwei from Jinda Law Firm, from the perspective of a young lawyer, shared the way of defense for young lawyers in handling criminal cases. Lawyer Jin Xiangcheng from Nuliya Law Firm gave an overall introduction to the case handling skills of the Nuliya criminal legal business team. The second session was a sharing of growth experiences in criminal teams by members of various criminal teams. Lawyer Zhang Xiaojing from our firm shared on the topic of essential abilities for criminal defense lawyers, discussing risk analysis ability as an essential ability for criminal defense lawyers, emphasizing the importance of not only doing one's own risk prevention, but also combining one's professional abilities to do risk analysis for clients. The third session was on the establishment and development of criminal legal business teams. From the perspectives of pain points, happiness, cultivation, harvest, and dreams, several speakers shared their experiences in establishing teams and the experience of their teams in the initial and development stages. This included discussions of the ideals and practical problems of switching to team case handling, key points and difficulties to grasp in team activities, methods for cultivating the business abilities of team members, and reflections on the fun and advantages of team case handling.

Many young lawyers who aspire to engage in criminal defense were also present that day. After listening to the speakers' sharing, they all expressed that they benefited greatly. They gained a clearer understanding of themselves, both in terms of cultivating criminal defense abilities and in terms of work integration and self-development within the team, and have clearer goals for their future career development. The purpose of holding this forum is to showcase the ingenuity of the instructors and the growth journey of those being taught, so that those who teach can impart knowledge and solve doubts, and those who learn can know the direction of their profession.
