Hangzhou Hangtianxin Public Interest Legal Service Center won the "2018 Legal Profession Public Welfare List Annual Public Welfare Activity Organization Award"

On March 16, 2019, the Third Public Interest Legal Service Summit Forum and the 2018 Legal Profession Public Welfare List Award Ceremony, jointly hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Legal Society, the Keyuan School of Law of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Lixin Society, was grandly held at the Shanghai Film Plaza No. 5 Studio. Nearly 200 people from the legal profession, enterprises, and public welfare organizations across the country witnessed the announcement of the six major awards of the 2018 legal profession "Public Welfare Oscars". Hangzhou Hangtianxin Public Interest Legal Service Center won the "Public Welfare Activity Organization Award", and the center's secretary, Jiang Xiaoyu, represented the center at the award ceremony.

The forum released the "2018 Report on the Development of Public Welfare in the Chinese Legal Profession", launched China's first public interest legal service guide—"Guide to Public Interest Legal Services in the Chinese Legal Profession (2019)", and officially announced the establishment of a volunteer group for public interest legal services for private enterprises and China's first "Leyi" public interest space alliance. The theme of the forum was "Every Public Welfare Story Deserves to Be Seen". This year marks the third year of the legal profession's public welfare list selection activities. Since its launch on January 19, 2019, from online solicitation and online voting to offline expert review, it has lasted nearly two months. Hundreds of public welfare stories from lawyers from various provinces, cities, law firms, and legal technology institutions across the country have been submitted for review, accumulating nearly one million clicks and forwards, and receiving widespread attention from all sectors of society. According to the selection results, the forum announced the six major awards: "Top Ten Public Interest Legal Service Awards 2018", "Public Welfare Activity Organization Award 2018", "Industry Public Welfare Contribution Award 2018", "Public Welfare Figure Award 2018", "Excellent Public Welfare Project Award 2018", and "Public Welfare Love Award 2018".

Since its establishment in 2016, Hangzhou Hangtianxin Public Interest Legal Service Center has provided legal aid in handling cases for economically disadvantaged migrant workers, disabled people, the elderly, women, and minors. It has also launched public interest legal projects such as "Goddess Legal Protection", "Legal Escort for Sunset Red", "Stopping School Violence", "Legal Services for the Elderly", and "Elderly People's Anti-Fraud", receiving high praise from women, the elderly, and young people. This honor for the public interest center is inseparable from the selfless dedication of 60 volunteer lawyers from 38 law firms across the city.
