1.  Hangtianxin in Action Against the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 swept the globe. Since the outbreak, our firm immediately launched a series of actions to combat the epidemic. We strictly checked the entry and exit of all employees, requiring those who had close contact with epidemic areas to report and self-isolate. We also organized all employees to donate to show their love. In addition to donating 50,000 yuan to the Gongshu District Red Cross Society in the name of the firm, our lawyers also donated 6,067 yuan to the Gongshu District Charity Federation, Zhejiang Smile Tomorrow Charity Foundation, and Beijing Han Hong Charity Foundation, etc. Zhao Beilei, director of the Yueqing branch, donated 1,000 yuan to the Yueqing Xinlian Association.

In addition to donating, our lawyers made full use of their professional skills to fulfill their social responsibilities. He Changming, a senior partner of our firm, submitted four suggestions to the official website of the Central People's Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Many lawyers from our firm also published several legal articles through the firm's WeChat official account, providing targeted analysis and answers on issues such as employment, taxation, and bankruptcy for enterprises during the epidemic. Chen Zhenhua lawyer remained in Jingning, Lishui during the epidemic, providing legal services to local enterprises and people.

2. Successful Re-election of the Party General Branch, Party Branches, Management Committee, Supervisory Committee, Trade Union, and Youth League Committee; 80s and 90s Young Lawyers Become the Backbone

In 2020, the Hangtianxin Law Firm's Party General Branch, Xinyi and Tiandao Party Branches, Management Committee, Supervisory Committee, Youth League Committee, and Trade Union all held re-elections for their management teams and members. Young lawyers became the backbone. Among them, there were 7 lawyers born in the 1980s and 4 lawyers born in the 1990s in the Party General Branch and Party Branch members; 6 lawyers born in the 1980s and 2 lawyers born in the 1990s in the Management Committee members; 3 lawyers born in the 1980s and 2 lawyers born in the 1990s in the Supervisory Committee members.

4. Implementation of a Points Incentive System for All Employees

   On the basis of implementing a retirement pension fund system and a medical insurance system of 5 million yuan per employee for all employees, in 2020, a points incentive system for all employees was newly adopted. The incentive system will manage points from more than 30 dimensions for each employee, including years of service, education, publication of papers, honors received, positions within the firm and in society and the legal profession, business volume and business development, participation in the firm's and the legal profession's and society's various activities, participation in the firm's various public welfare activities, promotion of the firm's brand, professional development, family building, and suggestions. 40% of the firm's annual profit will be distributed according to points, allowing all employees to share in the firm's development benefits. At the same time, the points will also be used as a basis for the firm's recommendations for awards, commendations, and the cultivation of key talents.

5. The Head Office Added 1430 Square Meters of Office Space, Reaching a Total of 2806 Square Meters

In 2020, our firm added a 1430-square-meter office space on the entire 18th floor of Building 5, Lvdi Central Plaza, in addition to the existing entire 8th floor of Building 5, bringing the total office space to 2860 square meters.

6. Awarded the Honorary Title of "Advanced Collective in National Public Legal Service Work" by the Ministry of Justice

In February 2020, the Ministry of Justice issued the "Decision on Commendation of Advanced Collectives and Individuals in National Legal Aid and Public Legal Service Work" (Si Fatong [2020] No. 9), commending 270 advanced collectives and 424 advanced individuals in national legal aid, and 723 advanced collectives and 964 advanced individuals in national public legal service work. Hangtianxin Law Firm was awarded the title of "Advanced Collective in National Public Legal Service Work" by the Ministry of Justice.

7. Rated as an "Advanced Unit" in the Second Batch (2020) of Zhejiang Lawyers' Legal Aid Volunteer Service Action

From the beginning of January 2020, 7 lawyers and 9 law firms from Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, and Jinhua went to 16 counties (cities and districts) with insufficient legal service resources and clear needs, such as Shengsi, Qingyuan, and Wencheng, to carry out a year-long legal aid volunteer service. Chen Zhenhua and Chen Chunping from our firm went to Jingning She Autonomous County to carry out a year-long legal aid action. The two lawyers conducted legal lectures and publicity, participated in window duty, village (community) legal counsel and other public legal services, served as legal counsel for the local party committee and government, worked hard to resolve social conflicts, and maintained social stability.

8. Passed the review and inspection of the "Party Building Demonstration Point" by the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Justice

  On August 5, 2020, Xu Xiangming, an organizer and deputy research fellow at the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Justice, and Lv Kaifeng, deputy research fellow at the Prison Comprehensive Office, visited our institution for an inspection of party building work. As a party building demonstration point for the city's judicial administrative system and an advanced grassroots party branch in the system, our institution's party building work was affirmed by Director Xu, who also hoped that we would continue to innovate and strive for higher standards, summarizing our experience along the way.

The Xin Yi Party Branch won second prize in the Hangzhou Lawyers' Industry Party Building Project Competition.

On December 29th, the Hangzhou Lawyers' Industry Party Committee held the citywide "Promoting People's Satisfaction through Party Building in the Lawyers' Industry" project competition at Hangzhou Tianyuan Building. The 30 finalists gave presentations accompanied by PPT slides, showcasing their institutions' practices in leveraging party building to strengthen branch development, advance business development, participate in social governance, and actively engage in public welfare. They highlighted the significant achievements in improving people's satisfaction through party building. Our institution's Xin Yi Party Branch stood out in the finals, ultimately winning second prize in the "Public Welfare Development" category.

In 2020, the Hangzhou Hangtianxin Public Legal Service Center handled 361 legal aid cases, helping 505 beneficiaries recover economic losses totaling 6,706,981 yuan.

2020 marked the fifth year of the Hangzhou Hangtianxin Public Legal Service Center's implementation of the "China Welfare Lottery" project. That year, the center handled a total of 361 aid cases: 190 migrant worker cases, 2 elderly cases, 2 disability cases, 166 women's and family rights protection cases, and 1 child case, helping 505 beneficiaries recover economic losses totaling 6,706,981 yuan.

On August 10, 2020, Zhang Jianhua, Secretary-General of the China Legal Aid Foundation, visited the Hangzhou Hangtianxin Public Legal Service Center. Secretary-General Zhang listened to a work report on the implementation of the "China Welfare Lottery" project, expressing appreciation and affirmation of our institution's active involvement in legal aid and public welfare activities, efforts to spread positive energy, service to the overall situation, courage to take responsibility, and contribution of positive energy to social development.

In 2020, the Hangtianxin Mediation Office at the Gongshu District Labor and Personnel Dispute Arbitration Commission handled 822 labor dispute cases, successfully mediating 420 cases, achieving a success rate of 51%.

Of these, 275 resulted in arbitration mediation documents, and 145 cases were withdrawn after mediation, achieving a success rate of 51%.

Establishment of the "Zhejiang Hangtianxin Law Firm Mediation Office"

The Hangzhou Intermediate People's Court, the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Justice, and the Hangzhou Lawyers Association jointly issued a "Decision on the Establishment of the Second Batch of Law Firm Mediation Offices," designating 45 law firms to establish mediation offices. Our firm was successfully selected, establishing the "Zhejiang Hangtianxin Law Firm Mediation Office."

  Lawyer Wang Hongyao's legislative proposal on "Formulating the People's Republic of China Crisis Management Law" was awarded first prize by the Ministry of Justice and the National Lawyers Association.

The list of excellent suggestions from the "Contributing to epidemic prevention and control and the promotion of economic and social development" activity, launched by the Ministry of Justice's Lawyer's Work Bureau and the All-China Lawyers Association, was announced. The National Lawyers Association's evaluation team selected 95 outstanding suggestions from 736 entries. Four suggestions from Hangzhou were selected, with senior partner Lawyer Wang Hongyao's legislative proposal on formulating the People's Republic of China Crisis Management Law winning first prize.

 14. The bankruptcy department, acting as administrator for the bankruptcy case of Hangzhou Tianyi Zhizxing Real Estate Co., Ltd., successfully helped more than 300 owners receive their property certificates, which were nine years overdue.

On December 25, representatives from the "Tianyi Zhizxing" community owners visited our firm to present a banner and letter of thanks, expressing gratitude for the bankruptcy department's hard work in the "Tianyi Zhizxing" bankruptcy case.

In June 2017, our firm was appointed by the court to act as one of the joint bankruptcy administrators for the "Tianyi Zhizxing" bankruptcy case. After carefully examining the various problems in the project, our bankruptcy team, with the care and support of the Hangzhou Municipal and Xiacheng District governments, guidance from the Xiacheng District People's Court, and cooperation from various departments, overcame numerous challenges. By the end of December 2020, we had finally helped over 300 owners receive their property certificates, which were nine years overdue.
