To alleviate the stressful and busy work lives of its lawyers and promote a better work-life balance, the Zhejiang Hangtianxin Law Firm's trade union meticulously organized a five-day, four-night trip abroad to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Chiang Mai is known as the "Rose of the North," renowned for its picturesque scenery, beautiful mountains and rivers, and world-famous handicrafts. It serves as the political, economic, cultural, and educational center of northern Thailand, and is also the country's second-largest city.
On September 13, 2017, the Hangtianxin lawyers set aside their work, packed their bags, and set off under the night sky. Under the gentle moonlight of Hangzhou, they journeyed to meet the starlight before dawn in Chiang Mai. On September 14, filled with anticipation, they visited their first destination—the "Thai囧 Temple" (Wat Buppharam). The Hangtianxin lawyers sat in a circle, listening to the Thai tour guide, Axiang, recount the story of Buddha's birth, listening devoutly, cultivating a connection with Buddhism.

Afterwards, they visited Wat Chedi Luang (the Great Stupa). The passage of time and historical accumulation have shaped the grandeur and solemnity of the temple. The group strolled around, encountering young monks, and experiencing the temple's cultural atmosphere.

The third stop on their journey was Wat Phra That Doi Suthep (Double Dragon Temple), situated on Doi Suthep mountain at an altitude of over 3,000 feet, offering a panoramic view of Chiang Mai. The temple houses relics of the Buddha and a crystal lotus donated by the ninth king, adding to its legendary aura.

The next morning, they visited the Elephant Campus in Chiang Mai. There, they rode elephants and watched elephant performances. Unless witnessed firsthand, it's hard to believe how intelligent elephants are; they can paint, raise the flag, and even ride a tricycle—no wonder they are Thailand's national animal. In the afternoon, they rested at the Shangri-La Hotel in Chiang Mai, savoring Thai snacks, and enjoying a leisurely "slow life".

On September 16, they traveled to the Thai Royal Snake Research Center (Snake Farm). There, the brave lawyers danced with snakes, experiencing an adrenaline rush. Following their visit, they went to the Art in Paradise 3D Museum in Chiang Mai, the world's largest 3D art museum. The lawyers displayed creativity using the museum's paintings to create imaginative and inventive poses. As night fell, the lawyers had free time. Some watched an exciting Muay Thai match, some even trying their hand at the sport. Others shed their usual bookish image, picking up firearms for a taste of the wild excitement of shooting. Many others chose to visit Chiang Mai University, exploring the local culture, experiencing a different kind of tranquility and etiquette.
Good times are always fleeting. The Chiang Mai trip ended as planned. With a sense of reluctance, they bid farewell to the ancient city. They left as quietly as they came, leaving behind no trace, but carrying with them warm memories and wonderful experiences.
On September 17, 2017, the lawyers boarded their flight home, marking the successful end of Hangtianxin's overseas trip. Every detail of their time in Chiang Mai became precious. Laughter, mutual support, and camaraderie formed deep bonds during the journey, while experiencing the exotic atmosphere. Returning to Hangzhou, they would return to work with renewed enthusiasm and vigor!
